Cadmium Electroplating

Cadmium plating is a specialized metal finishing service that Del's Plating Works offers. We adhere to the SAE-AMS-QQ-P-416 and ASTM B 766 standards to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality cadmium plating service. Cadmium is a soft, malleable, ductile, silvery-white metal that is similar to zinc but provides greater corrosion protection.

We offer three types of cadmium plating:

  • Type I: No post-treatment. This type of plating is suitable for parts that will not be exposed to extreme environmental conditions.
  • Type II: Chromate Treated - Only Yellow available. This type of plating provides improved corrosion resistance and is suitable for parts that will be exposed to moderate environmental conditions.
  • Type III: Phosphate Treated. Phosphate treatment to cadmium will roughen the plated surface to enhance paint adhesion. This type of plating is ideal for parts that will be painted or coated.
